Biography
Ponmile Eldorado is a versatile and talented songwriter, visual artist, entrepreneur, gospel musician and preacher.
She started singing at the early age of 5 at the children's choir of her family's local church (Celestial Church of Christ Apata Odo-Ona) in Nigeria and she never relented in her service to God, as she joined the teenager's choir at Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria where she spent most of her teenage and young adult years serving God in different leadership capacity in the choir.
Ponmile Eldorado rose from the position of a vocalist in the choir, to become the lead vocalist and then the head of the soloist and backup department of her choir with over 200 choristers.
Her passion for God and music never left her, even at the University at the age of 16, she became one of the soloists in her school choir Student Christian Movement (SCM) and also became a soloist with the school mass choir at Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife Nigeria and ministered often at the school’s popular annual gospel musical concert, which made her well known amongst the campus fellowships in the mid-90s. Before graduation, Ponmile Eldorado established an all-female music and dance group called “The Liberators”. This group of six ladies ministered the word of God through music and dance both on Campus and outside.
After graduation, Ponmile Eldorado proceeded to serve her country at Jos Plateau State Nigeria.
She was an active member of the Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) Jos Headquarters. Ponmile Eldorado soon became a Praise Team Leader and a lead Soloist in the choir, She was also a major contributor to the maiden musical album release by the NCCF Choir Jos, writing and Co-Writing some of the songs such as “Super God” and the theme song “The Journey” with her Choir Director.
After graduation, Ponmile Eldorado proceeded to serve her country at Jos Plateau State Nigeria. She was an active member of the Nigeria Christian Corper's Fellowship (NCCF) Jos Headquarters. After serving her Country for one year, Ponmile Eldorado took her music ministry to the next level releasing her 8 track album “WONDER” which was a great success without any doubt. At this time, Ponmile Eldorado was actively involved with the work of God, serving at diverse capacities in the choir of her local church Daystar Christian Center Ikeja Lagos under the leadership of Pastor Sam and Nike Adeyemi. She worked in different capacities at the choir, she was a lead Soloist and the Social & Welfare Leader. Due to her creativity, Ponmile Eldorado also successfully handled the scripting, stage management and co stage-lighting of the famous Healing Streams (DayStar Christian Center) Choir for several years.
She has won and has been nominated for several gospel musical awards such as The Best Act In Diaspora for “The Annual Gospel Music Awards AGMA” , Best Gospel Music (Indigenous)
“The Annual Gospel Music Awards AGMA” and many more.
Ponmile Eldorado is not just a gospel artist and preacher, but also an award winning business woman who has won both state and Federal awards in Nigeria for her hardwork and positive contributions in business and the Empowerment of women and youths in her country, having helped over 10,000 youths and young women to be financially independent with her various initiatives such as YEASAP (Youth Empowerment And Skill Acquisition Program) , YAWEC (Young Adult Wealth Creation) Project and many more. She has also partnered with the C.W.O (Catholic Women Organisation) in various Women empowerment projects.
Ponmile Eldorado speaks boldly against domestic violence, being a survival herself. She is of the opinion that more laws protecting women and children (Especially those with Special needs) should be made in Africa. She is the convener of "The Autism Breakfast Dialogue" a program supported by United Nations Global Compact, with the aim to educate and empower caregivers, teachers, parents and other stakeholders of children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
Ponmile Eldorado promotes education in the girl-child and financial empowerment for women, she believes many women in Africa endure abuse because of their low financial status, cultural and religious beliefs .
Ponmile Eldorado encourages love, mutual respect and understanding in relationships, which she speaks about during her program called As – It – Is ( A.I.I ) with Ponmile, a family program that is held every Saturday evening.
Ponmile Eldorado was the Head of the Worship Team at RCCG Jesus Embassy California USA and later became the Choir Director of the Church. She is presently a worship Leader at International Christian Center California USA and doing great things for the kingdom of God.
Ponmile Eldorado also has great passion for children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families, this made her establish a foundation named after her daughter called “Hadassah Developmental Care and Nutrition Foundation ” A Non Governmental Organization established to help the less privileged children with ASD / ADHD and their families, She also talks against other social ills, such as female gender mutilation, child-marriage and the denial of the girl child’s educational opportunities. Ponmile Eldorado believes that every child should be given equal opportunities, either male or female, special needs or regular, regardless of their faith, financial status, colour or race, every child should be given a chance.
Ponmile Eldorado currently holds a Masters degree In Business Administration and is presently running another Masters degree in Special Education (Applied Behavior Analysis) . Ponmile Eldorado is indeed a blessing to her generation.
She is happily married and blessed with Children.
